Overview of Shougang Jingtang Company
Shougang Jingtang Company with her full name of Shougang Jingtang Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. is located in Caofeidian, Tangshan City of Hebei Province, and she is the main carrier of the relocation and adjustment of Shougang. Building Shougang Jingtang steel plant which is under the guidance of the scientific concept of development, is an important and strategic decision made by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council. It is included in national key projects of the 11th Five-Year Plan. It is also a steel joint venture with the internationally advanced level which is designed in full accordance with the concept of recycling economy.
The project has always been the loving care of the CPC and Central Committee and State Council. The party and state leaders Hu Jintao, Wu Bangguo, Wen Jiabao, Jia Qinglin, Li Changchun, Xi Jinping, Li Keqiang and He Guoqiang, have inspected and investigated in succession to the company , made important instructions, and proposed positioning requirements and construction goals as “ high starting point, high standard, high demand, first-class product, first-class management, first-class environment, and first-class efficiency.”
Shougang Jingtang steel project officially started on March 12, 2007. On May 21, 2009, 1 # 5500 m³ blast furnace blasted, ignited and produced iron smoothly. Subsequently, steel making, hot-rolling, and cold-rolling put into production, and the whole line of the first step project worked all through. On June 26, 2010, one of the main project of Shougang Jingtang steel plant was fully completed and put into production. Currently, the production process was stable and smooth, and the main technical and economic indicators have reached the design level.

The main features of the project include: adjacent to the sea, close to the port，which lead to convenient transportation; reasonable layout, compact process; large-scale equipment, advanced technology; high-end products, circular economy, etc.
I, Adjacent to the sea, close to the port，convenient transportation
Jingtang Company is the first enterprise of 1000 ton iron and steel with sea port. The deep-water port can meet the large ships entering and leaving more than 25 tons. It is a significant reduction in raw material and product transportation costs.
II, Reasonable layout, compact process
The general layout of the steel plant is on the basis of absorbing the experience of international and domestic advanced steel plants. Through further studies and optimization, it achieved closely co-ordinated, coherent from the field of raw materials, coking, sintering, iron making, steelmaking, hot rolling, cold rolling to the finished product terminals, minimizes the transport distance and to be reasonable layout, compact and smooth process.
The entire process chain convergence of the steel plant is very compact, and the process spacing is compressed to a minimum. The field of raw materials selected a region from the pier, while the finished products storage directly located at the rear land of the finished product terminals to minimize the transport distance of the raw materials into the plant and finished products sent. It has reduced their facilities, and cut down the operational costs.
Independent integration of “a jar to the end” technology used in large-scale blast furnace - converter interface for the first time, and the first use of a ladle stamped insulation technology in the world, the transport distance from blast furnace to steelmaking is only 900 meters, which becomes the shortest transport distance in large steel plants. The converter to hot-rolled achieves process up close convergence, and hot-rolled finished products of 1580 mm to 1700 mm cold-rolled raw material storage are separated by only a road. Tons of steel covers an area of 0.9 ㎡ that reaches the international advanced level. As to the functional sequence, spatial sequence, and time sequence, the entire steel plant is in the international advanced level.
III, Large-scale equipment, advanced technology
The steel plant of company concentrated rare, high-efficiency and large-scale equipment which is the largest currently in China, the highest in the world and one of the few. The blast furnace of 5500 m³ is the largest in China currently, ranking sixth in the world, with an average daily output reaching more than 12,000 tons. The 7.63m super-huge type coke oven is the largest in Asia, ranking front row in the world, with an annual output of coke 1.05 million tons of each coke oven. The steel plant with 300-ton dephosphorization converter, 300-ton top and bottom combined blowing converter, and 300-ton RH vacuum degassing refining device, is the world's first plant whose monomer production capacity reaching 10 million tons. The 550 ㎡ sintering machine, 2250 mm hot-rolled production line, 2230 mm cold rolling production line, and 75,000 m³ oxygen machines are the large equipment at the top of the list at home and abroad. The equipment constitutes a high efficiency, low-cost production system.
The steel plant uses more than 220 domestic and foreign advanced technology, and the independent innovation and integrated innovation reaches two-thirds which coking 21, iron-making 68, steelmaking 53, hot rolling 22, cold rolling 46, public auxiliary and other systems 10, to ensure the main technical and economic indicators of the iron and steel plant have reached international advanced level.
Independent integration of “a jar to the end” technology used in large-scale blast furnace - converter interface for the first time; make use of bell-less top technology, top burning stove and full of dry dust removal technology with independent research and development, and independent intellectual property rights for the first time in 5500 m³ blast furnace; it is the first “three-off” smelting mode steelworks in China with desulfurization, dephosphorization, de- silicon , which create a highly efficient and stable, clean steel production platform and lay the foundation for the production of high-end sheet.
IV, High-end products, circular economy
The products of Shougang Jingtang target at the high-grade quality using in automobile producing, ship building, bridges, pipelines, boilers, appliances, building structures and other industries which need hot-rolled, cold-rolled products. Until now, Hot-rolled line has developed 103 varieties of 14 categories, and cold-rolled line has developed 50 varieties of 4 major categories. Pipeline steel has been serialized, and supplied for the West-East Gas Phase II project and the China-Burma gas engineering in bulk. 21.4 mm X80 pipeline steel was successfully developed to fill the blank of domestic production. 12 kinds of special appliances board for Haier, Midea, LG and other users were developed, and the automotive sheet products already have had a vehicle supplier.
The steel plant of company is completely designed with the principle of "reduction, reuse, resource", with the characteristics of low consumption, low emissions, high efficiency, and making full and recycling use of the waste heat, residual pressure, residual gas, waste water, the iron-containing materials and solid waste in the production process to ensure the basic realization of zero-emission. She is an environment-friendly, society-serving, resource-saving, and green plant. The annual spontaneous power reached 5.5 billion, 94% of the total electricity consumption. Construct of four sets of 12,500 m3 / d desalination facilities, that can produce 50,000 tons of fresh water, 50% of the total water consumption. Included in the "11th Five-Year" national science and technology support Program "a new generation of recyclable steel process technology" project, 12 of the 15 subjects relied on research experiments of Shougang Jingtang steel project, to further enhance the level of circular economy.
